The blueberry fries are terrific!
Very nice restaurant in wonderful surroundings in the south of Essen (Werden). All starters, main courses and desserts are of very good quality and very tasty. Praise to the kitchen. The service is very attentive and leaves nothing to be desired. The location is highly recommended. Will definitely come back.
One of the nicest restaurants in Essen. Beautiful view, great surroundings to take a walk and simply great creative cuisine. Highly Recommended. I wish you all the best, especially in the current difficult situation. I hope to see you in the new year!
We expected more. The food was good, but the service consisted of young ladies who preferred to fool around and have a snack themselves. It was worth a try for us, but we don't need a second time.
Very friendly and attentive service, fine food in portions that are actually too large (which shouldn't be a negative criticism) and good implementation of the hygiene rules. We'll be back sometime.
Despite the manageable menu, 3 starters, 7 main courses + 1 grill plate, 2 salads and 2 desserts, we had to wait over 50 minutes for the dishes. I would have turned a blind eye if the restaurant had been more than half full. The portions are very manageable, the grill plate for 30 € consisted of a super mini burger, small medallion of pork, a piece of poulard and homemade fries. Unfortunately the meat was well done and had no toasted aromas. The fries and the spice sauce were excellent in taste, unfortunately the teaspoon of sauce was not enough. Price and performance are not only the same for this dish. The service and the view of the beautiful city of Werden have earned 5 ⭐️!
The world's best bee sting. You have to try it!
A great evening, with very friendly service and very good food.
Basically it was OK. The food was reasonable but a little overpriced for the quality. The service was friendly but a bit too careless towards the end. The location exudes a bit of 80s charm and could be made much nicer with a little attention to detail. The view over Werden and the lake is sensational. So there is still room for improvement
The restaurant was advertised to us as a good alternative to the Gasthaus Schellenberg, which is why we made a reservation there on our child-free evening. When we arrived we stood in the entrance area as ordered and not picked up ... literally. Had to speak to a waitress directly while walking past, then after a few minutes we were directed to the table. The view was lovely, as was the decor. Since the menu is kept quite clear, I was looking forward to the daily offer, although I was informed as soon as I arrived at the table that it was probably over. Well, on closer inspection of the next table it somehow fell on that almost everyone had ordered the daily special (a kind of grill plate), which is why I could understand why it was over. So I ordered something from the regular menu, which sounded appealing. The aperitif was very good, as was the starter. The wrong order was then brought to the main course for me. "Veal liver" and "cod" can be confused under certain circumstances, but should not happen. My wife has already eaten when she was done, then my order came. They excused themselves excessively, but well ... I expect something different from fine dining. My dish was really delicious and cooked to the point. A reinterpretation of a classic, so highly recommended. In summary: the dishes and the ambience were very good, the service friendly, but with clear potential for optimization.
Ingenious location, ultra nice team, fantastic view, delicious food and a perfect place to celebrate!
We were there on 9/12/2020. The inside of the restaurant is showing its age. The menu was extremely poor and the prices were quite high. The schnitzel with french fries was standard snack bar quality and was absolutely overpriced at € 23. The apple spritzer tasted stale and the dessert selection (2 alternatives?) did not invite to order. Reason for the 2 stars: the view and the friendly service.
Super great and delicious food. The staff was very friendly and the view was a dream.
Great food ?. Everyone tasted very good. Keep coming back ?. Very beautiful view. Very friendly staff.
Super delicious food, no question about it! We waited over (!) 2 hours for the main course ... and that with a manageable menu ... go there if you have time ... then it's worth it!
The view from the restaurant balcony is breathtaking!!
The restaurant is fine throughout and we had a nice afternoon here. Certainly I come here with my relatives and I can rely on the impeccable service. We didn't have to wait long for the food and our drinks. It was great because we had a lot of coal steam that evening. My sisters and I kept the inn up-to-date irrelevant for all occasions whether with a buddy, acquaintance or clan; ).
Great view, good service, good food.
A restaurant with a view. The Villa Vue is characterized by the beautiful view, but nothing is inferior to the restaurant in terms of taste and quality. Have a cool drink in summer and enjoy the view, or have a chic dinner in winter. Villa Vue is very suitable for this. Larger groups will also find enough space here, but a reservation is recommended. The location is very suitable for weddings. The price of the restaurant is rather in the upper range. You should be prepared for that. The staff is qualified, attentive and friendly. We really liked it.
Fantastic setting overlooking the Ruhr Valley. Villa Vue is a relaxed restaurant where you wine and dine or do coffee and cakes. Good value and well worth a visit
An excellent place out of town with terrific views of the Rhur. Excellent for cake and coffee!
Awesome view, very good service, big delicious portions. Great place, totally recommend!
Amazing view from the outside seating across Essen. Stunning. Nice food and a good choice of beers
Delicious innovative German cuisine in a beautiful location. It has a great view over the Baldeneysee and surroundings. Service could have been a bit more attentive.
Nice food and ambience with very nice view of the town from the hillside
Was a great evening, with delicious food and great wine and we have a very attentive service. I was very happy with everything and like to come back
Great food, great service! Keep it up.
Was there for a wedding. Staff are really friendly and spoke English (which was very helpful as we didn’t speak a word of German). The place has an incredible view of the river and the city. I would highly recommend this place for parties.
It is a really nice place. Probably some of visitors will say that it is a bit expensive but the view and the kitchen compensates. Everybody, who enjoy good meals in good view locations, should at least try it.
Tasty cakes but terribly unfriendly staff. The view is mediocre. The place is obviously targeting pensioners rather than young families. Sundays very busy, reservation needed.
Staff was very nice, one of the best views in Essen. Food was also great.
Good food with nice panorama wiev
Nice design and good location. The personnel is unfortunately totally unprofessional. They don't know much when it comes to customer questions and bring incomplete orders!
